Mexico is at full employment and doesn’t need more jobs. Tariffs and trade wars are a terrible way to run an economy. They hurt more people than they help.

Less imports, so more clothes made in Mexico, and more people will have a job. Better to have a job then to buy your clothes a bit cheaper. Besides, who knows under what conditions those imported clothes have been made.

Why increase the costs of essential items to consumers? That doesn’t hurt the US. It hurts low-middle income Mexicans.
